The U.S. Virgin Islands Food Stamp Application or SNAP helps low-income families in U.S. Virgin Islands buy the food they need for good health. The U.S. Virgin Islands Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are provided on a special debit card loaded with a certain amount of money to buy food at most grocery stores.

With the Food Stamp card, you can buy your groceries and the cost will be taken out of the total amount on the card. Furthermore, the amount of money you get on the card may depend on three things:

  • Household income from all sources (earned and unearned). This includes money you get from a job, Social Security, SSI, or interest.
  • Number of people live in your household.
  • The place where you live.

Also, more money is put on your debit card on a monthly basis.
