How To Apply for Disaster Food Stamps in North Carolina

Residents of North Carolina who have been impacted by Hurricane Florence may qualify for disaster food stamps. Read this whole article to for information on how to apply for Disaster Food Stamps in North Carolina. The state of North Carolina has received a Major Disaster Declaration as a result of Hurricane Florence.

Residents of North Carolina in the Hurricane Florence affected areas are eligible for assistance from the government. This means that they can apply for Food Stamps for Hurricane Florence.

As of September 14, FEMA gave North Carolina a Major Disaster Declaration. Therefore, the state is allowed to offer the following assistance to individuals and households in the affected areas:

  • Disaster Food Stamps or D-SNAP
  • Individuals and Households Program
  • Disaster Case Management
  • Crisis Counseling Program
  • Disaster Unemployment Assistance
  • Disaster Legal Services

On the note that the State of North Carolina has received a Major Disaster Declaration by FEMA, the state is eligible to offer Disaster Food Stamps to affected citizens.

On September 23, FNS approved North Carolina’s request to operate a D-SNAP in 18 counties (Beaufort, Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Duplin, Harnett, Jones, Lenoir, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Robeson, Sampson, and Wayne) starting on September 28.

How To Apply for Disaster Food Stamps in North Carolina

Residents in the affected areas can now submit their applications for disaster food stamps. The state is ready to provide nutrition assistance to those who are impacted by the storm. Furthermore, the Disaster Food Stamps application process is simplified for D-SNAP and benefits are issued to eligible applicants within 72 hours.

If you are on food stamps in North Carolina, you are also eligible for replacement food stamps, which allows you to replace food lost as a result of Hurricane Florence.
