Snapbenefits 1 Comment

Due to lots of questions, we are getting from our readers about how the government shutdown affects food stamps benefits payment, here is good news for all food stamps beneficiaries. It has officially been announced by the USDA that the food stamps benefit payment for the month of February will be paid on or before January 20th, 2019.

The payment for February is being made early for all food stamps beneficiaries because the USDA has discovered a way for all benefits for the month of February to be paid using $4.8 billion in emergency funds.

However, because of the rules attached to the emergency funds, the department has until January 20th to use the funds to make the payment or it will no longer be available.

According to the USDA, the February Food stamp payment will be paid on or before January 20th, 2019. So, all food stamps beneficiaries who were worried about if their benefits will not be paid in February due to the government shutdown will definitely have their ebt card refilled.

On this note, if you see additional money on your EBT cards this January, know that it’s not a bonus payment, nor extra money. Rather, it is your February food stamps payment.

When did it become legal to starve U. S. citizens? I had my food stamps cut back to $130 and my Medicaid taken away just after getting on disability, when I had been pre-existing since my college years. I do not believe I would have severe osteoporosis had my food benefits not been cut and my Medicaid taken away (and, by a Governor who had a child in a mental institute receiving full benifits, while she starved everyone else under her care). This is cruel and unusual punishment for people who committed no crime except for being disenfranchised in life and in health, and I do not see where it differs too radically from torture. Not eating can cause a host of medical problems, plenty of unnecessary stress on our elderly, and not eating can cause death. Is that the intended goal, to create more problems and more suffering down the road?
